	For Immediate News Release June 6, 2008 Spangler Art Show Opening: Escuro Saudade

	On Friday, June 27 from 6 to 9 PM, William Spangler, a Louisville photographer will present an opening reception and discussion of his photographic exhibition Escuro Saudade (Describes an overwhelming feeling of loss with looming darkness) at the new Harriet Beecher Stowe House second floor gallery. The June 27 opening event will provide a unique opportunity to visit this new photo exhibit at the house. Students, adults and amateur photographers are encouraged to attend this opening event. The closing reception for the exhibit will be Friday, August 22, 2008 at the Harriet Beecher Stowe House. Anyone who has loved something or someone deeply and then suffered a shattering loss could identify with Bill Spangler’s photographic exhibition
Shattered
	This photographic collection Escuro Saudade contains ten bold images, which express feelings of loss, regret and loneliness by a beautiful woman who has suffered a tragic event in her life. In the famous Brazilian tune “Minha Saudade” from the Bossa Nova craze of the 1960’s the composer Joao Donato expresses similar feelings of longing to return to his native Brazil. The ten images of the show express the subject’s inner feelings and emotions in pictorial form.
